Hamster Chef Lands Food Network Series
You might not be familiar with the culinary stylings of Zoey, a 6-month-old hamster from Brookyln, NY. But come this fall, her face will be all over your cable dial.
That’s because The Food Network is putting big bucks behind her new cooking show Hello Jell-O!, based on the book of the same name. In it, the adorable hamster will be whipping up delightful desserts with everyone’s favorite Cosby-approved treat — Jell-O.
“Not only is she a great chef, but her personality is infectious,” says Kylie Wenner, a Food Network producer. “We’re fairly confident that Zoey will be the next breakout star.”

Lisa P. Jackson is the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency and one of the most powerful women in America. Her position puts her at the center of the clash between the Obama administration and Congressional Republicans over environmental policy. With Republicans in control of the House, Ms. Jackson and her agency have been the target of a full-throated assault, particularly on the E.P.A.’s plans to regulate carbon dioxide emissions (NYT).
Environmentalists and ambitious careerists should get to know her:
- Interview with Little Pink Book, a career advice website for women
- Recently on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart
- Speaking schedule, maybe you can see her speak in your city!
- Twitter (a must follow for enviros!)
- Profile on Washington Post’s Who Runs Government
- The NYTimes has written 52 articles about Jackson and the EPA since Obama appointed her in 2008
I enjoyed the Interview with Little Pink Book. Insightful.
super cool to see such a woman of power, especially in the sciences!
I used to think I was the strangest person in the world, but then I thought, there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do. I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me too. Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this, know that, yes, it’s true, I’m here, and I’m just as strange as you.”

The ice cream company names its newest flavor after Alex Baldwin’s classic ‘Saturday Night Live’ character Pete Schweddy. Yes, they’re really going there.
